Travelling to Skyros is simpler than it sounds.
You only need two return flights:
1. Home → Athens (return)
2. Athens → Skyros (return)

International Flight
The Athens → Skyros flight departs early so we
recommend arriving into Athens on Friday. International
flights to Athens are widely available from the UK and
many European cities.

Domestic Flight
On arrival day (Saturday), there is a direct flight from Athens
(ATH) to Skyros (SKU) on Saturday morning, operated by
Aegean Airlines / Olympic Air.
This is a quick 40 minute flight and if you have booked our
transfer one of our team will meet you at the airport.

Quick Tips:
If travelling from London Heathrow, you can book
with Aegean Airlines all the way from London →
Athens → Skyros (and back) on one ticket, keeping
everything connected and straightforward.
Please note that flight times may be adjusted as the
summer schedule approaches, so do check your booking
closer to departure.

Arriving on Skyros

Skyros Airport is in the north of the island.

For guests travelling to Atsitsa Bay, we normally arrange a transfer from the airport to Atsitsa on the day your holiday begins.

For guests staying at The Skyros Centre, travel arrangements may differ depending on your arrival time and holiday dates.

It is also possible to reach Skyros by ferry.

Ferries depart from Kymi, on the island of Evia, and arrive at Linaria, the port on Skyros. The crossing usually takes around an hour and a half.

• Take the KTEL Evias bus from Liosion Bus Station (260 Liosion Street, Athens) to Kymi Paralia (Kymi beach). The bus connects with the ferry to Skyros.

This can be a lovely way to arrive if you are already travelling in Greece or would like to include a road trip or a few extra days on the mainland.

You will need to allow enough time to travel from Athens to Kymi before the ferry departure, so for most guests arriving internationally, flying from Athens is the easier option.

Arriving early / getting around on Skyros

If you choose to arrive on Skyros a few days before your
holiday begins, taxis are the easiest way to get around the
island. We suggest booking in advance where possible.

Most guests travelling from the UK arrive in Athens on Friday, stay overnight near Athens Airport, then take the Saturday morning domestic flight to Skyros.

We recommend booking the Athens–Skyros flight first once your holiday place is confirmed, as this is a small aircraft and availability can be limited.

If travelling from London Heathrow, it may be possible to book London–Athens–Skyros with Aegean Airlines on one ticket.
