For many years, Skyros has been known for its creative and wellbeing holidays in Greece. Guests come for writing, music, art, yoga, comedy, movement, personal development, conversation and good company. Many arrive on their own. Many leave with new friends. Some return year after year because the experience gives them something they find hard to name, but easy to recognise when they feel it.
In 2026, Skyros returns to The Grange on the Isle of Wight with a new series of UK-based weekends, starting in July, with further autumn and festive dates being added.
These shorter breaks offer a taste of Skyros closer to home. They bring together the heart of what people love about Skyros: creativity, wellbeing, shared meals, conversation, laughter and time away from the usual demands of everyday life.
A Skyros weekend, closer to home
Not everyone can take a full week away in Greece. Work, family, cost, travel and time can all make a longer holiday harder to manage.
Skyros at The Grange offers a different way in.
Set in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, The Grange gives guests the chance to enjoy the spirit of Skyros without travelling overseas. These weekends are designed for people who would like to step out of their normal routine, try something new, meet like-minded people and return home feeling more themselves.
They are also ideal for returning guests who would like to reconnect with Skyros between summers.
The weekends are shorter, but the intention is the same: to create a welcoming space where people can learn, rest, talk, laugh and take part without pressure.

Why The Grange works so well
The Grange offers a beautiful Isle of Wight setting for a Skyros-style break. It is comfortable, characterful, human in scale and close to the sea – the kind of place where a weekend can feel like a proper pause.
There is time to write. Time to move. Time to sing, reflect, walk, talk, eat together and remember that life feels better when it includes creativity, connection and space to breathe.
That is the real value of a Skyros weekend. It is not just the course itself, although the courses matter. It is the mix of people, place and shared experience that makes the time feel different.
What to expect
Skyros at The Grange weekends usually run from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.
Guests stay at The Grange and enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner as part of the weekend. Each break includes a focused course or theme, with time around the sessions to relax, explore Shanklin, enjoy the garden, book a treatment or simply take a breath.
Depending on the programme, weekends may include writing, yoga, comedy, art, mindfulness, music, wellbeing or personal development.
You do not need to arrive with experience. You do not need to be especially confident. You do not need to know anyone.
You can come as yourself.
That has always been part of Skyros. The atmosphere is welcoming, informal and supportive. People often arrive a little unsure and soon find themselves included.

For new guests and returning friends
For new guests, Skyros at The Grange is a friendly introduction to what Skyros offers. It gives you the chance to experience the atmosphere before committing to a full holiday in Greece.
For returning guests, it is a way to reconnect. A chance to see familiar faces, meet new ones and spend a weekend in the kind of company that makes you feel understood.
Skyros has always been about more than getting away. It is about what you come back to in yourself.
The Grange weekends are part of that same spirit.
A weekend that gives something back
Modern life can be full, fast and noisy. Many people are tired, over-stretched or simply missing the kind of connection that comes from being with others in a real, shared setting.
A Skyros weekend at The Grange gives you a small but meaningful break from that.
You may come for a course. You may come for company. You may come because you need a change of scene. Whatever brings you, the aim is simple: to give you a weekend that feels restorative, creative and worthwhile.
Not perfect. Not polished. Just real, human and useful.
