Creative Mindfulness at the Skyros Centre

20–27 June 2026

There are some weeks that help you step out of routine and into a different kind of rhythm.

From 20 to 27 June 2026 the Skyros Centre hosts a week of Creativity Mindfulness in Skyros Town – combining insight, art and Release Yoga in a supportive, thoughtfully held setting by the sea.

This is a week to unwind, reflect and enjoy a gentler rhythm of life in an authentic Greek village. With the beach nearby, welcoming tavernas, quiet corners to pause, and a warm, attentive team around you, the atmosphere of the week is as much a part of the experience as the teaching itself.

At the heart of the programme are two masterclasses:

Finding Peace in Your Life with Julian Russell
or
Mindfulness Through Art with Ignacio Lalanne

Alongside these, Release Yoga runs throughout the week, offering a simple, grounding thread of movement and relaxation that supports the overall feel of the programme.

At the Centre, you choose one masterclass as your main focus for the week. That is part of what makes the experience so rewarding. Rather than skimming the surface, you have the chance to stay with one subject, enjoy real continuity, and go deeper over the course of the week. You can also dip into a session from the other course, while still keeping a clear shape to your days.

Finding Peace in Your Life with Julian Russell

Julian’s course offers a fresh and engaging exploration of how the mind works.

Rather than focusing on techniques or self-improvement, he invites people to explore how thought works and what becomes possible when we see our experience more clearly. His teaching is thoughtful, spacious and often surprisingly freeing.

For many people, this kind of exploration brings a sense of perspective. Things can begin to feel less pressured, less effortful, and more open.

If you are drawn to reflection, insight and a deeper understanding of how we create our experience, Julian’s masterclass offers a rich and rewarding focus for the week.

Mindfulness Through Art with Ignacio Lalanne

Ignacio’s course offers a creative route into mindfulness through drawing, colour, observation and attention.

Through drawing, colour, attention and observation, the week invites you to slow down and engage creatively with the present moment. It is not about being “good at art” or producing perfect work. It is about the pleasure of looking, noticing, experimenting and allowing yourself to become absorbed in the process.

For many people, art opens up a different kind of quiet – one that comes through making, seeing and giving your attention to what is in front of you.

For those who enjoy a more visual, intuitive and hands-on experience, Ignacio’s course offers a beautiful and absorbing path through the week.

Release Yoga through the week

Woven through the programme, Release Yoga adds another dimension to the week.

Gentle, restorative and grounding, it offers a chance to unwind physically as well as mentally. It helps create space in the body, supports relaxation, and complements both the insights of Julian’s course and the attentive creativity of Ignacio’s.

Together these elements – insight, art and yoga – give the week its particular quality: thoughtful, restorative, and quietly nourishing.

Optional treatments with Kat Broadbent

Also available during the week, Kat offers on-site holistic treatments for those who would like an extra layer of relaxation and care.

Her sessions can be a lovely complement to the week’s reflective, creative and restorative atmosphere, offering time to unwind, release tension and feel more fully looked after during your stay.

Why the Skyros Centre suits this kind of week

The Skyros Centre is especially well suited to weeks like this.

Set in Skyros Town, it offers a more boutique and focused experience, with smaller groups , carefully held programmes and the sense of being part of village life. There is a depth and continuity in the teaching, but also time to wander to the beach, enjoy long lunches, browse local shops, or simply pause and take things slowly.

It’s this balance of structure and ease, focus and freedom, that gives the Centre its particular appeal. Alongside the programme itself, optional treatments offer another way to unwind and look after yourself during the week.

What you may take home

A week like this can stay with you in simple but lasting ways.

You may return home with fresh perspective.
You may feel more creatively alive.
You may simply feel more rested, refreshed and glad you gave yourself the time.

Above all, this is a week to enjoy: thoughtful teaching, a supportive atmosphere, and the pleasure of spending time in a beautiful Greek setting with space to breathe.

If you are drawn to a week that combines insight, art, Release Yoga and time to properly unwind, Creative Mindfulness at the Skyros Centre may be the perfect choice.
