In this workshop we’ll explore techniques used by actors and their director to bring the script ‘off the page’ to create dynamic movie and TV scenes that live on in the imagination.

With active curiosity we’ll mine screenplays from celebrated movies and TV series for the detail and subtext that helps actors develop unique and 3-dimensional characters.

After initial ‘table reads’ we’ll employ techniques which further develop the characters, culminating in rehearsals of full scenes which we may also choose to perform for an audience.

Suitable for anyone interested in practical exploration of the skill of acting for screen and with a desire to discover what makes effective directing and screenwriting, this workshop will deepen your understanding of movie and TV-making whilst freeing your inner actor in a fun, playful and supportive environment.

No previous experience is necessary, and any writers attending are also welcome to bring along a self-written scene for the group to explore.

Tiana’s course is held in Atsitsa Bay on Skyros island in Greece and is part of the wide range of courses and activities available.

The holiday includes full board twin shared accommodation in an eco-hut. Single upgrades and twin shares in the house are available.

About Tiana Harper

Tiana spent her formative years as a musician and performer before segueing into the screen industries where she worked in writing, directing and producing.

Having trained in screenwriting, filmmaking and coaching actors, Tiana has taught on and led programmes in world-class film and performance conservatoires, including London Film School and the Royal Academy of Music.

Tiana is a guild-accredited Feldenkrais practitioner and her teaching of Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement complements and deepens her facilitation of artistic practice, as well as supporting participants’ wellbeing.
