Solo travel can be a daunting thought, but here at Skyros we support guests every step of the way. From which flights to book, to the transfers, our team is here to help.

One of our guests recently shared: “Transfers (excellent): Simples… Arrived at Skyros airport. Bus was there… Drove us to Atsitsa… What’s not to love.”

We wanted to share first-hand insights on what to expect from a solo trip with Skyros.

1. A warm welcome to an unspoilt haven: Atsitsa Bay on Skyros Island is a gem: quiet, beautiful and perfect for a solo adventure. Every dietary need is catered for and with sun, sea and great courses, you can relax, unwind and let it all unfold.

2. New levels of friendship: Solo travel gives you the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life. At Skyros, our supportive community environment fosters deeper levels of communication, and helps create lasting bonds. Post holiday, join our 'Friends of Skyros' group for daily demos (sharing of news) and creative clubs.

3. A chance to try something new: Be brave and take part in the end of holiday cabaret. Perform a song, dance, poem or comedy act in front of a highly appreciative audience. Step outside your comfort zone, have fun, and express yourself.

4. Creative expression: Our diverse range of courses, from yoga and mindfulness to creative writing and art, are designed to help you discover new passions and enhance your wellbeing. Led by expert facilitators, each course can be a step towards exploring your own unique potential.

These are some beautiful images from Jo Morley’s art course this month 'The Art of Linocut' - we have a whole range of art courses. Find out more here.

Whether you're a solo traveller or coming with friends, a retreat with Skyros offers all the right ingredients in which to flourish and return home expanded and full of new confidence.

As a guest wrote to us on return from her Skyros holiday this year:

"I didn't quite know what to expect and, as a solo traveller, there was some trepidation, anxieties which were quickly dispensed as I chatted with others before the first meeting. Others might sell 'paradise' but this chance to learn whilst in paradise is truly transformative. I return home changed - for the better!"
