Write Now: start writing the story you’ve always wanted to write

This two-week course is designed to kick start your writing in a playful and supportive environment. It is also designed to support those who are already stuck into their projects. Daily sessions will cover some of the questions a novelist must answer as they embark on a project, alongside exercises to get your creative ideas flowing freely.

Over two weeks, we will cover aspects of voice, character, setting and structure (among other things) and dig deep into what makes a good story and who’s best to tell it. We will share work in a safe and constructive environment and explore our ideas and stories with both fun and seriousness.

The course will focus on long-form fiction (novel-writing), but is also geared towards memoir, writing from life, and aspects of the short story.

About Mez Packer

Mez is a highly experienced and empathic writing facilitator. Her workshops are always interesting and enjoyable and she is expert at supporting people at ANY stage of their project or writing career.

Mez, herself, writes novels and short stories. Her debut, Among Thieves, was nominated for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, and more recently, her short stories have been published in anthologies with Comma Press and Floodgate Press.

She is Assistant Professor in digital/film/media storytelling at Coventry University and she has facilitated students and creatives for 20+ years in HE and at Arvon, Skyros and Curtis Brown Creative.

Mez is also an arts consultant, a professional editor and creative writing mentor.
