Activities at Atsitsa Bay, Greece
Kayaking, Swimming with Mary French
Sat 19 - Sat 26 Jul 2025
Kayaking
Atsista Bay is the perfect location to learn or to improve in kayaking. There is the Bay for warming up or practising new moves. Outside of the bay lends itself to the exploration of smaller islands and inlets with historical points of interest and just beautiful views.
Swimming
Swimming sessions will be centred around Atsitsa Bay and will be relevant to everyone from non swimmer to swimmer alike. There will be opportunities to be creative in your movements or specific with stroke efficiency. And hopefully we'll have time to perform to the others!
What's included?
Mary's course is held in Atsitsa Bay on Skyros island in Greece and is part of the wide range of courses and activities available. The holiday includes full board twin shared accommodation in an eco-hut. Single upgrades and twin shares in the house are available. Chat through the website, call +44 (0)1983 86 55 66 or email holidays@skyros.com to discuss your requirements.
About Mary French
Mary is passionate about being outside with nature and sharing this through activities. Her expertise in offering up a framework of gradual developmental stages, allows individuals to reach into previously inaccessible areas and develop movement and confidence. Her style is one of calmness and warmth with a genuine interest in everyone she meets.
Mary enjoys swimming anywhere, especially outside bodies of water and combining this with kayaking. She has swum in remote glacial lakes in Kyrgyzstan and high altitude oxbow lakes in Zimbabwe but feels most at home swimming or paddle boarding in the longest lake in England, Windermere, near where she lives in the Lake District. She has swam the length a couple of times.
The most beautiful places she has kayaked are around the west coast of Scotland's islands and the most idyllic paddle board spots experienced have been along Pembrokeshire’s coast line.
Mary is an experienced and qualified teacher of outdoor activities (and maths!) holding qualifications in kayaking, climbing, first aid, caving and hill walking.
