About Andrew Cuerden

Formerly an international Latin and Ballroom dancer, choreographer, licentiate qualified dance teacher and championship adjudicator, Andrew is more publicly known for being a professional partner on the BBC hit show Strictly Come Dancing in 2005. Andrew was also extremely successful on the international competitive dance floor, ranking 24th in the World Competitive Latin Dance Rankings, 2006. Since retiring from dance competitions in 2008, Andrew has continued to develop his teaching, performing, choreographing and dance event organising.

Andrew has appeared in numerous television advertisements, music videos, fashion catalogues and film documentaries, including London Tango, where he taught and supported a, recently-divorced, divorce lawyer to dance in order to help her overcome her woes. He has also danced in period dramas, such as the remake of Far From The Madding Crowd and the  ITV Drama - The Great Fire, Sky Drama - Mary & George. Other work has included Celebrity Instructor and performer at The Body Holiday, P&O Cruises, professional danceer on Brendan Cole's Live and Unjudged UK tours as well as co-producing and performing his own shows.

Due to a variety of chronic illnesses and depression, Andrew began his healing journey in 2016. He sold everything up and went travelling to explore a wide range of holistic and complementary wellbeing modalities. After many courses, retreats, detoxes, practices, therapies, healings, psychedelic journeying, realisations and qualifications Andrew has created his own unique fusion of therapeutic dance and life coaching modality - Metaphysical Dance.

On the fundamental belief that all life is a dance and therefore the same universal laws that apply to dance, also apply to life. Andrew skilfully and intuitively weaves the principles of dance with life so as to enable people to understand and find more balance, presence, harmony and joy.

From the shy and humble start of Andrew’s dance career in 1986 he has loved teaching and sharing his passion for dance and self-development. Andrew’s sensitive and empathic abilities makes him a skilled communicator and allows him to successfully teach people of all walks of life and abilities with a calm yet passionate approach.

He is incredibly intuitive and creative yet structured and sensitive to detail.  Andrew cares deeply about making people feel safe, confident and appreciated. Aiming to facilitate self-development, social confidence, cohesion and overall well being for people and planet.
