In this course, we examine the novel from a structural perspective, breaking it down into the elements of a compelling story. You will learn how to plan your novel and how to build its chapters along the bones of a narrative arc. This course is about demystifying the writing process and about giving you practical skills to construct a publishable novel with vivid characters. You will be guided and encouraged within a positive and supportive group environment. There will be daily exercises to stimulate creativity and provide you with the confidence you need to power ahead with your story.

About Diane Connell
Diane Connell was born and educated in New Zealand and has lived and worked in Japan, France and the UK. She began her writing career in a newspaper office in Tokyo before becoming an advertising copywriter and writing for the international non-profit sector. For many years she lived in Paris, where she began writing as a novelist. She later moved to London, where her first two books, Julian Corkle is a Filthy Liar and Sherry Cracker Gets Normal, were published under the name of D.J. Connell. She now lives in Sydney.
